The Head Office/Ikaroa District Reunion (March 2009) was a blast. So much so the organising committee was pressured into organising a national one.
Events, dates and venues:
Cocktail evening: at Parliament Buildings Friday 29 October 2010 - this will go ahead only if we can find a sponsor for the function. We will keep you posted.
Golf - daytime: The suggestion that golf be played prior to the dine and dance evening has attracted interest, so it is definitely on. Tee off is planned for [time] Saturday morning 30 October 2010 at [golf course]. Let us know if you want to join in and shoot a round of golf with Hon Koro Wetere.
Dine and Dance evening: Saturday 30 October 2010 at Petone Working Men’s Club in Udy St., Petone. Starts at 6:00 pm. Music is by The Emerald Brothers, the late Matt Huirua’s sons from Whanganui (with an 'h') .
Ahuwhenua Hui - daytime: It has been proposed that a Māori Land Conference focusing on the retention and utilisation of Māori land be organised for those who may be interested on Friday, Saturday or both days as an adjunct to the official reunion events. Click here for further information.
Registration: We experienced some technical difficulties with the official web site that was used for a while. It was difficult to register online. We’ve gone back to the original site - but may have lost some registrations of interest including contact details. There is now no need to pre-register. The reunion is definitely on. All you need to do to reserve your place to attend Saturday evening’s dine and dance event at the Petone Workingmen's Club is make a payment of $50 per person. Please send money now!
