St David's Church Rotorua

WELCOME to the web page of St. David’s Presbyterian Church in Owhata, Rotorua, New Zealand. We are a congregation of believers who gather together to worship on the East side of Rotorua. The style of worship is a more traditional Presbyterian style of worship with our congregation mostly older folk. Our perspective is outward towards our community and facing the challenge of penetrating the culture of our locality with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a practical and meaningful manner.

The philosophy of mission we are presently pursuing is called "Unleashing the Church" written by Frank Tillapaugh in the early '80s. This means we have identified central key ministries that define who we are in terms of functioning as a worshipping community, and that we foster the development of peripheral ministries which are allowed to live or die according to the season and needs that arise naturally out of our community.
