We think Jeff
started his slot car interest back in the late fifties or early sixties
when he built a track with his workmates. In the mid sixties Cliff James
organised interclub racing amongst the Dunedin groups running in basements,
sports clubs and churches. Following Cliff's early death in 1970, Jeff
took over the track which was modified to fit in a single garage. This
is the track we still run on.
As Jeff moved houses the requirement was
always that there was space for the track.
It was Jeff and his group that kept slot car racing alive in Dunedin
during the seventies and eighties.
All the slot car
fraternity will miss Jeff's enthusiasm and his yarns.
Our condolences go out to Margaret, Allan, Christine and family.
Goodbye Jeff, you were a good mate to all of us.
